One Man Zoo

A friendly giraffe disrupts everyday life

About the Show

A giraffe has been spotted in town. Nobody knows quite where she came from, but she seems to be making herself at home.

Suddenly emerging from a backpack, she stretches her neck into the everyday bustle.

Trees become snack bars, shops invite investigation, and a perfectly ordinary street suddenly has a very unusual pedestrian. Curious, cheeky and occasionally a little too interested in your shopping, she meets whoever crosses her path: children, commuters, people in suits and people living in the street, people in a hurry—and people who thought they were in a hurry.

Some encounters last a moment. Others turn into games, unexpected friendships or small adventures. A shy hello, a stolen leaf, a nose through the wrong doorway:

each meeting becomes its own little piece of theatre.

Then, just as suddenly, she disappears into the backpack again. Was there really a giraffe here a moment ago? And did she just eat your flowers?

As she wanders through streets built around human needs, she quietly unsettles our ideas of who belongs where. Who gets to take up space? Who is welcome? And what happens when the wild refuses to stay politely behind a fence?

In One Man Zoo, Ariel Doron and his giraffe turn public space into a playground of surprise, mischief and tender encounters. Come closer, keep walking, or stay a while. The giraffe has no appointments.
