About the Show
What’s that?
Is it me?
Is it you?
Is this real?
Or just a joke?
It’s time to open the box!
Please close it.
I’m scared.
In Boxed, Ariel Doron takes his playful approach to puppetry a step further into minimalism, creating a whole world with just himself and a simple shoebox.
An ordinary object becomes an unexpected companion in a funny, tender and slightly scary uncanny encounter. As the man tries to understand what he has found, the boundaries between himself and the contents of the box begin to blur.
With precise physical comedy and a delight in the unexpected, puppetry, mime, slapstick and psychological zombie thriller tumble into one another.
A small gesture can suddenly make one jump in their seat, and an absurd situation can suddenly turn strangely moving.
Playful, mischievous and full of surprises, Boxed tells the story of a lonely man trying to connect with himself and the world.
With very little on stage and plenty happening in the audience’s imagination, the show invites laughter, curiosity and the pleasure of never quite knowing what comes next.
