Plastic Heroes
Children toys meet adult wars

About the Show
War is about to begin. Now is the time to become heroes. But the soldiers are plastic, the battlefield is a table, and home is just a distant image on a screen. With no clear enemy or goal, the border between reality and fantasy blurs: is this really happening, or is it all just a game?
Made from ready made children’s toys, Plastic Heroes is a surprising, darkly funny collage of war images. Soldiers, weapons and familiar playthings come alive, bringing desire, violence, sex, hate and fear to the table.
The innocence of childhood play meets the bloody reality of adult war in a wild puppetry performance that moves between laughter and discomfort.
Almost entirely without words, the show confronts painful subjects through the unexpected possibilities of ordinary toys. The show has been presented in more than 30 countries at theatres and festivals and won several prizes worldwide.

Heading 2
".. One of these little miracles,
which only puppet and object theatre brings.
From a game of discreet naïveté and formal simplicity it manages to touch the nerves, bring up emotions and thoughts in a way that is anything but naive or simple." Leipziger Volkzeitung
